Bhaktapur Scrap Factory Catches Fire, Nearby House Damaged

A fire broke out at a scrap storage facility in Jagati, Suryabinayak Municipality-8, Bhaktapur, on Monday morning, damaging both the facility and a nearby home.

The fire started around 6 am at BK Suppliers along the Jagati–Doleshwor road. Operator Dinesh Bhatt suspects an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze.

The flames initially consumed the scrap material area before spreading to adjacent buildings. A nearby private house also sustained damage, but a full assessment of property loss is still pending.

Firefighters Successfully Control the Blaze

Juddha Barun Yantra dispatched a fire engine to the scene shortly after the fire began. Firefighters, aided by local residents, managed to control the fire and prevent further spread.

The area surrounding the fire contained other hazardous materials and residential properties, raising concerns about the potential for wider damage.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Authorities are currently evaluating the damage to both the scrap facility and the neighboring house.

It is believed that a short circuit may have been the initial cause of the fire, with more information about the incident and property losses expected after the assessment is completed.
