Four iPhones, Cosmetics and Apples Seized in Birgunj Smuggling Crackdown

Police have seized mobile phones, cosmetics, and apples valued at over a million rupees in two separate smuggling cases involving individuals suspected of illegally bringing these items from India into Nepal, bypassing customs in Birgunj, Parsa.

The total value of the seized goods amounts to Rs 1,006,760, as reported by the police.

In the first incident, four Apple mobile phones, including three iPhone 17s and one iPhone 15, were recovered from Gandak Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, valued at Rs 552,210.

In the second incident, cosmetics and apples worth Rs 454,550 were found in a shipment at Rajatjayanti Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-16.

These goods were imported from India without following the necessary customs procedures.

The total value of the confiscated items highlights the authorities’ commitment to combating smuggling in the customs zone.
