
Renowned Indian actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75.
He suffered a serious cardiac arrest at his home in Dona Paula, Goa.
Patekar experienced an acute cardiac arrest in the early hours of Thursday and was taken to a private hospital. Despite over 45 minutes of efforts with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), doctors were unable to revive him.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar from Manipal Hospital confirmed that Patekar passed away around 5:20 am. Authorities have registered a medico-legal case, and a post-mortem examination is anticipated.
A Five-Decade Acting Career
Born Vishwanath Patekar, he began his film career in 1978 with the movie Gaman. He became one of the most recognized stars in Hindi and Marathi cinema, known for his powerful performances.
Patekar was celebrated for his intense presence in films such as Parinda, Prahaar, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Ab Tak Chhappan, Raajneeti, and Welcome.
His remarkable performances earned him three National Film Awards, solidifying his status as a leading actor in India.

In addition to acting, Patekar was a director and involved in theatre, enriching India’s cinematic landscape.
