Man Held in Morang for Allegedly Manufacturing Firearms at Home

Seized muzzle-loading guns and manufacturing tools displayed at the Area Police Office in Letang Morang

A man has been detained for reportedly manufacturing and selling firearms from his residence in Letang Municipality-7, Warangi Kolaghar, Morang.

The police apprehended 45-year-old Purnalawati Limbu after receiving a tip-off about his home based production of muzzle-loading firearms, according to the District Police Office, Morang.

In a raid on Thursday morning, law enforcement officials discovered one muzzle-loading firearm in Limbu’s bedroom.

Authorities also identified a separate room functioning as a workshop for weapon production, where they seized one percussion firearm and various components used for assembling muzzle-loading firearms.

DSP Makendra Kumar Mishra, spokesperson for the District Police Office Morang, stated that the recovery of weapons and materials occurred during the search operation.

Limbu is now in custody, along with the seized firearms and weapon-manufacturing supplies.
