Nepal Police have apprehended 14 individuals across seven districts during recent drug patrols.
The arrests occurred in Makwanpur, Lalitpur, Udayapur, Kanchanpur, Jhapa, Sunsari, and Tanahun, according to the Central Police News Desk.
Authorities recovered tramadol, nitrazepam, suspected brown sugar, a heroin like substance, dicyclomine, Phenergan, diazepam, and buprenorphine during these operations.
Police have not yet disclosed the quantity or value of the seized substances.
Two Arrested with Tramadol in Makwanpur
Two men were arrested in Thanabharyang, Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City 11, Makwanpur for possessing tramadol tablets.
They are Govinda Tamang, 32, from Rapti Municipality 1 in Chitwan, and Safal Bikram Rana, 24, from Manahari Rural Municipality 3 in Makwanpur.
Additionally, two individuals were apprehended with tramadol at Wai Wai Chowk in Lalitpur Metropolitan City 18. One has been identified as Nabin Ale Magar, 22, from Nilkantha Municipality 5 in Dhading, currently residing in Chunikhel, Lalitpur.
Arrest in Udayapur; Suspected Brown Sugar Found in Kanchanpur
Saroj Bardewa, 21, from Pragati Tole in Belaka Municipality 4, Udayapur, was arrested for allegedly possessing nitrazepam in Kothu, Belaka Municipality-8.
In Kanchanpur, Bishal Bik, 30, from Dokebazar, Punarbas Municipality 11, and Kusal Chaudhary, 22, from Joshipur Rural Municipality 9, were taken into custody. Police seized a substance resembling brown sugar in Fattaiya Khalla, Belauri Municipality 1, though its composition is yet to be verified.
Four Arrested in Jhapa with Heroin Like Substance
Four individuals were arrested in Mechinagar Municipality 2, Jhapa, for possessing a substance suspected to be brown heroin. One suspect identified is Milan Meche, 39, from Mechinagar Municipality 8. The identities of the other three suspects remain undisclosed.
The recovered substance is under investigation as part of a broader drug probe. Police have not released further details about the quantity or the suspects’ roles.
Two Arrested in Sunsari; Motorcycles Seized
Parshuram Gurung, 31, from Sundarharaicha Municipality 5 in Morang, was arrested at Halgada Chowk in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City 1, Sunsari. Tramadol and dicyclomine were found on him.
Ujjwal Budhathoki, 28, from the same area, was also arrested in Bargachhi, Itahari-2. Police seized two motorcycles allegedly used in the crime, but no further details have been provided.
One Arrested in Tanahun with Three Drug Types
Shiva Mall, 31, was arrested in a rented room at Shantinagar Tole, Bhimad Municipality 6, Tanahun. He was found with Phenergan, diazepam, and buprenorphine, which have various medical applications and legal regulations.
No additional information regarding the quantities of these substances has been released.
Ongoing Investigation Across 7 Districts
The 14 individuals arrested are believed to be involved in separate operations rather than a coordinated effort. Police have not confirmed if the cases are connected or if more arrests are anticipated.
