Mumbai Police have arrested two additional suspects linked to the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to 10.
These latest arrests come as part of an expanded investigation into the alleged conspiracy surrounding the October 18 shooting in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Authorities are examining a suspected weapons supply network and the roles of individuals who may have assisted the attackers before and after the incident.
The new suspects, identified as Samir and Jatin, are being investigated for their connections to the three men accused of executing the attack.
Investigation into Weapons Procurement Underway
Investigators revealed that Jatin allegedly traveled to Amritsar with two other suspects, Kunal and Sumit, to obtain weapons believed to have been used in the shooting.
Authorities are working to uncover how these weapons were acquired, who facilitated their transfer, and if there were additional individuals involved in supplying firearms to the attackers.
Samir is reportedly a friend of Jatin and is said to have stayed with the three alleged shooters in Mumbai’s Andheri area.
Investigators are also looking into whether the suspects frequently changed their accommodations to evade police detection. Their movements, lodging, and potential connections to other suspects are part of the ongoing investigation.
Arrests Across Multiple States
The recent arrests follow a series of police operations conducted in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Gujarat.
Previously, three men accused of carrying out the shooting were apprehended on a train at Kota railway station in Rajasthan while allegedly attempting to escape.
The suspects were identified as Hritik Kumar, also known as Roshan, from Bihar, along with Rehan and Phool Singh from Haryana.
On Tuesday, Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested four additional suspects, including two women, for their alleged involvement in arranging and transporting weapons linked to the attack.
The four suspects are Kunal, Sumit, Radha, and Babita. Authorities allege that Kunal and Sumit facilitated the weapon arrangements, while Radha and Babita were involved in transporting firearms to Mumbai.
Separately, Gujarat Police arrested a man reportedly connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, adding another dimension to the investigation.
Authorities are continuing to explore possible connections among the suspects, the alleged weapons supply, and those believed to have coordinated the operation.
Overview of the Tiger Shroff Shooting Incident
The shooting occurred on October 18 in Mumbai’s Juhu neighborhood when three alleged attackers on a motorcycle opened fire near the actor’s vehicle.
Reports indicate multiple shots were fired at the car as Tiger Shroff returned from playing football. Fortunately, the actor was unharmed, although his driver and an autorickshaw driver reportedly sustained injuries.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, prompting investigators to examine the motive and any connections to threats against other Bollywood figures.
Police are also investigating the roles of those arrested and whether there are any additional suspects still at large.
Ongoing Investigation into Alleged Criminal Network
The increasing number of arrests has shifted the focus to the suspected network that may have facilitated the shooting, particularly in terms of firearms procurement and movement.
Investigators are analyzing communications, travel records, accommodations, and financial connections to better understand how the alleged operation was organized.
The case has raised concerns about the safety of Bollywood celebrities following reports of threats linked to criminal gangs.
While 10 individuals have been arrested, the investigation remains active. Police continue to interrogate suspects and gather evidence to assess the scope of the alleged conspiracy.
The allegations against the suspects will undergo legal scrutiny, and their guilt will be determined in court. [Source: NDTV]
