Police have arrested Ganesh Pandey, the owner of New Safal Global Consultancy, on fraud charges.
A woman accused him of abandoning her son for two years after promising to help him find work in South Korea.
Ganesh Pandey, 28, is a permanent resident of Belkotgadhi Municipality-11 in Nuwakot.
He was taken into custody by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office after the woman shared her complaint in a TikTok video directed at the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
In her video, the woman claimed that her son had been left stranded for two years despite being promised employment in South Korea.
Police Investigation Underway
After the TikTok video went viral, police began investigating and arrested Pandey at Ranibari Chowk in Kathmandu on October 6.
He is currently under investigation for alleged fraud, focusing on the woman’s claims and her son’s situation in South Korea.
Authorities are urging the public to be cautious when using consultancy services and foreign employment agencies.
They advise potential migrants to verify the legitimacy of recruitment agencies, job offers, and necessary government approvals before submitting any money or documents.
The allegations against Pandey remain unproven in court, and the investigation is ongoing.
