Mumbai Police utilized several vehicles and altered routes multiple times to transport three men accused of firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car from Kota, Rajasthan, to Mumbai.
The nearly 900 kilometre journey through three states took around 16 hours. During this time, the police convoy changed routes at least three times and transferred the suspects between vehicles four times.
The suspects : Hritik Kumar, 22, from Bihar, and 18 year olds Rehan and Phool Singh from Haryana were arrested on the Pune Jaipur Superfast Express at Kota railway station on Monday morning, a day after the shooting incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
After receiving a transit remand from a court, they were handed over to Mumbai Police for further investigation.
Police Change Routes During 900 Kilometre Journey
The convoy departed from Kota around 10:30 am on Tuesday, using two Toyota Innova Crysta vehicles, one white and one silver.
Initially, the suspects were in the white vehicle while police officers traveled in the silver Innova. The convoy made a stop near Bharuch, Gujarat, around 6:45 pm, where the suspects were moved to the silver vehicle.
The white vehicle then slowed down significantly while the silver Innova continued at a higher speed on the expressway.
At about 9:30 pm, another silver Innova Crysta, registered in Maharashtra and driven by officers in civilian clothes, joined the convoy. The vehicles stopped at a restaurant and later regrouped at a petrol station in Valsad, Gujarat, around 10:10 pm.
The convoy passed Vapi and entered Maharashtra around 10:50 pm. After approximately 16 hours of travel, they arrived in Mumbai around 2:30 am on Wednesday, where the suspects underwent a medical examination. Sources from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch indicated that the suspects were also questioned during the journey.
How the Three Suspects Were Arrested
The arrests followed a shooting incident in Mumbai’s Juhu neighborhood on Sunday evening, October 18.
Investigators tracked the alleged attackers after they fled on a motorcycle, which was later found abandoned in Andheri.
It is believed that the suspects traveled to Surat and boarded a train bound for Jaipur, planning to take a bus to Delhi before escaping to Nepal.
However, Mumbai Police tracked their movements and alerted Rajasthan Police, leading to their arrest at Kota railway station.
The suspects were then transferred to Mumbai Police custody for interrogation regarding the shooting and the conspiracy behind it.
What Happened During the Attack on Tiger Shroff?
The shooting occurred around 7 pm on Sunday as Tiger Shroff was returning from a football game in Juhu.
The actor, who was in the front passenger seat of his BMW, escaped unharmed, but his driver and an autorickshaw driver were injured.
Videos from the scene show two men firing multiple shots at the vehicle. Following the attack, Shroff reportedly exited the car and drove his injured driver to seek medical help.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the shooting, and police are investigating the potential involvement of individuals linked to the gang, as well as possible accomplices in planning or executing the attack.
Investigation Continues as Police Probe Possible Conspiracy
The arrest of the three suspects marks a significant development in the investigation, but questions remain about the planning, motives, and possible involvement of others.
Investigators are examining the suspects’ movements, escape plans, and connections to those who might have coordinated the attack.
Police are also expected to question the suspects to clarify each individual’s role and identify any additional members of the alleged network.
This incident has raised new concerns about threats to Bollywood figures and the potential involvement of organized crime in attacks against high profile individuals. The investigation is ongoing, and the legal process will determine the allegations against the arrested men.
