Sarlahi Land Revenue Office Employee Arrested With Rs 1 Lakh Bribe

A non gazetted first class officer (Nayab Subba) from the Land Administration Office in Sarlahi has been arrested by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 100,000.

The arrested employee was part of the administration section at the Land Administration Office.

CIAA agents from the Bardibas office apprehended Timilsina around 10 AM on Wednesday, November 4.

He is accused of soliciting money from a service seeker to expedite processing related to land tenancy rights.

The bribe was reportedly intended to facilitate administrative tasks concerning land.

Acting on gathered information, the CIAA team from Bardibas executed the operation and arrested the employee with the alleged bribe.

CIAA has confirmed the arrest

Shree Prakash Pokharel, the information officer at the CIAA’s Bardibas office, stated, “We have arrested Timilsina and are continuing our investigation.”

The inquiry will reveal the circumstances surrounding the alleged bribe.

This incident raises ongoing concerns about bribery within government offices. Citizens depend on public employees for land registration and tenancy-related services.

The CIAA investigates corruption and abuse of authority by public officials. If evidence supports the bribery claims, the commission can pursue legal action.

Further updates on the investigation and possible legal actions against Timilsina are anticipated.
