Gas cylinders from various brands can be exchanged at 11 locations in the Kathmandu Valley.
Consumers can swap gas cylinders of different brands at these 11 centers, thanks to a special distribution arrangement by the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association (NLPGIA) ahead of the Dashain festival.
Initially launched at 6 locations, the scheme has been expanded to 11 centers in collaboration with the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and the Gas Vendors’ Federation.
This service aims to simplify the exchange process for cooking gas, as many face difficulties in swapping LPG cylinders of different brands during the festival.
NLPGIA has updated the schedule, stating that the service will run daily from 11 AM to 4:30 PM until October 16.
Consumers can only exchange cylinders at these 11 authorized centers, not at regular retail shops or other locations.

Revised Timing for Gas Cylinder Exchange
NLPGIA has shortened the gas exchange scheme by one day, now available until October 17.
The distribution time has also been updated, with gas cylinder exchanges starting at 9:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM.
Consumers wishing to exchange LPG cylinders should visit only the authorized centers during these revised hours.
The scheme applies to gas cylinders from the brands listed in NLPGIA’s announcement, specifically those sold in the Kathmandu Valley.
Consumers should check their preferred brand before heading to the exchange centers.
Special Arrangement for Gas Supply During Dashain
The special LPG cylinder exchange arrangement was introduced in response to consumer complaints about difficulties in acquiring cooking gas and exchanging different brand cylinders ahead of the Dashain festival.
NLPGIA has partnered with NOC and the Gas Vendors’ Federation to implement this scheme, addressing the demand supply gap for cooking gas in the capital.
The number of centers has increased from 6 to 11 to better serve the public in obtaining gas cylinders of different brands.
Consumers are reminded that they can only exchange cylinders at the authorized centers.
