Jeep Falls Off BP Highway in Sindhuli, Eight Injured

Eight people were injured when a jeep lost control and fell about 20 meters on the BP Highway in Sindhuli district today, Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 8:30 AM in Ganeshthan, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-3, according to police.

The jeep, with registration number Ba Pra 01-031 Cha 9749, was traveling from Kavrepalanchok to Ramechhap when it veered off the road.

All injured individuals are residents of Bethanchok Rural Municipality-1 in Kavrepalanchok. They are Rombahadur Yonjan (28), Mina Maya Tamang (21), Durga Bahadur Yonjan (56), Dhan Bahadur Yonjan (43), Prem Yonjan (45), Dinesh Yonjan (30), Anil Yonjan (20), and Tek Bahadur Thing (52).

Local residents and police rescued the injured from the jeep, and they were taken to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment.

The driver, 26-year-old Narayan Basnet from Bethanchok Rural Municipality-3, Kavrepalanchok, was not injured.

Police are investigating the incident and have opened a case to determine the cause of the accident.

This incident occurred just after the BP Highway was reopened following closures due to flooding and landslides that made many roads impassable for days.
