
Aryan Majhi was arrested after police fired shots during an operation in Kageshwori Manohara, Kathmandu. He is linked to 27 previous theft and robbery cases, as reported by the police.
Majhi is believed to be the leader of a robbery group. The police opened fire around 9:45 PM on Wednesday before taking Majhi and two other suspects into custody.
Overview of Previous Cases
The Kathmandu District Police Range has noted that Majhi has a history of arrests for 27 theft and robbery incidents at various times.
These cases were handled by different police units, including the District Police Range in Bhaktapur, the Area Police Office in Banepa, Kavre, and the District Police Range in Kathmandu.
Senior Superintendent of Police Dilip Ghimire stated that the group is suspected of carrying out numerous robberies across Kathmandu. They are also accused of snatching chains from pedestrians.
Additional Arrests
Police have also arrested Rakesh Thing from Bakaiya Rural Municipality-5, Makwanpur, and Manoj Kumar Moktan from Bakaiya Rural Municipality-7, Makwanpur, in connection with this case.
According to police, Thing was riding on the back of a motorcycle while Moktan was the driver during the alleged robbery.
The three suspects face charges related to an attack purportedly committed under severe provocation or impulse. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will go through the legal process regarding the allegations.
