Russian Strikes on Ukraine Kill 7 as Kyiv’s National Academy of Sciences Is Hit

  • Dnipro Office Attack: A drone strike hit a multi-story office building in central Dnipro during working hours, leading to three fatalities and at least 12 injuries.
  • Kharkiv Residential Damage: A strike on a nine-story apartment building in Kharkiv left 43 people injured, including 11 children.
  • Black Sea Port and Cargo Ships Hit: Russian forces targeted port infrastructure in Odesa and Chornomorsk, affecting a logistics center and two cargo vessels in the Black Sea.

Diplomatic Stalemate Amid Intensifying Attacks

The heavy bombardment followed diplomatic discussions linked to the United Nations General Assembly. Moscow officials dismissed the possibility of an immediate ceasefire, citing recent Ukrainian drone strikes on defense and energy facilities within Russia. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials reiterated their calls for international partners to enhance air defense systems and lift restrictions on long-range strikes to combat Russia’s ongoing aerial campaign against urban areas and civilian infrastructure.
