
Two people were arrested in Kathmandu for allegedly producing homemade liquor illegally. Authorities confiscated 650 liters of finished liquor and 4,000 liters of fermented raw material used in its production.
The suspects, Madan Tamang and Samir Tamang, reside in Pathari Shanishchare Municipality, Morang.
A joint operation by the Thankot Police Circle and the Inland Revenue Office, Kalanki, led to their detention for illegal liquor production.
Police reported that the two were allegedly making homemade liquor in a shed located in Machhegaun, Chandragiri Municipality-9, Kathmandu.
Officials seized about 650 liters of homemade liquor and 4,000 liters of fermented liquid meant for creating more liquor.
After their arrest, the suspects were taken to the Inland Revenue Office, Kalanki, for further legal action.
Authorities continue to monitor and enforce laws against the illegal production and distribution of homemade liquor in Kathmandu.
